Programme

Overview

The Strad praised the Modigliani Quartet as an ‘authoritative guide’ in its recording of Schubert’s complete string quartets. The French ensemble, founded in 2003, brings its deep experience of the Viennese Classical repertoire to one of the pinnacles of chamber music, Beethoven’s Op. 130, offered here with the ‘Great Fugue’ that the composer conceived as its all-encompassing finale.
