Overview

Breath-taking clarity and seductive warmth suffuse the Pavel Haas Quartet’s sound, used to shape interpretations hailed as ‘life-enhancing’ by the Arts Desk. BBC Music Magazine greeted the Czech ensemble’s recording of Dvořák’s ‘American’ Quartet with a five-star review, concluding that ‘their understanding of the musical argument is exemplary’. The quartet is joined by Boris Giltburg in Schubert’s ‘Trout’ Quintet, a radiant work sketched during a joyful stay in the countryside of Upper Austria.
