Mozart’s K516 was described by Hermann Abert as ‘the most passionate piece that [he] wrote in this his favourite key, and one of the most profound of all his works,’ a verdict that remains as true today as when it was delivered over a century ago. The Belcea Quartet, regular at Wigmore Hall for more than 25 years, is joined by Tabea Zimmermann to perform the G minor Quintet in company with another titanic monument of the chamber music repertoire.
