Overview

Every piece in Carolyn Sampson’s recital with her regular duo partner was either composed or published in the year Wigmore Hall first opened to the public. The juxtaposition of pieces recalls a world in which Paris and Vienna vied for the title of the world’s musical capital and artists of the highest calibre gathered at London’s newest venue for chamber music and song. Prepare to discover delicious rarities by Mel Bonis and Charles Bordes as well as Schoenberg in cabaret mode.
