Programme

      • Goldberg Variations BWV988
(arranged by Dmitry Sitkovetsky for string trio)

Overview

Dmitry Sitkovestsky’s arrangement of Bach’s soul-warming survey of the art of variation, made in 1985 to mark the 300th anniversary of the composer’s birth, has become a chamber music classic in its own right. Three ace musicians, long-term musical partners, present their bold interpretation of the work, finely honed over the course of many performances and deep reflection on its total transcendence of a common musical form.
