Overview

Recipient of the 2025 Léonie Sonning Music Prize, one of classical music’s highest accolades, the Danish String Quartet returns to Wigmore Hall with a programme of profound compositions. It begins with the pulsating energy of Aheym, Bryce Dessner’s musical evocation of flight and escape, before turning to the poignant expression of Shostakovich’s Third String Quartet. The evening closes with Ravel’s ravishing String Quartet, an evergreen masterwork from the 20th Century’s opening decade.
