Memorably described as ‘a serious kick up the baroque backside’, Solomon’s Knot has earned its Early Music spurs with absorbing interpretations that take historical information and direct it to the cause of creating performances that live and breathe in the present. It applies its collective artistry to three of JS Bach’s sacred cantatas, crowned by Gott fähret auf mit Jauchzen, a joyful celebration of Christ’s Ascension.
