    Overview

As their Wigmore Hall Residency ends, Il Giardino Armonico and Giovanni Antonini, visionary conductor and recorder virtuoso, are joined by Julia Lezhneva, famed for her crystalline voice and effortless command of the true art of bel canto. The Russian soprano, harvester of five-star reviews, applies her delightful artistry to a selection of arias from Vivaldi’s operas and Haydn’s dark-hued dramatic cantata, with its heartfelt response to Ariadne’s abandonment by her lover Theseus.
