Overview

Strahinja Mitrović made history in 2024 when he became the first double bassist to win the Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s illustrious Gold Medal since its inception 109 years earlier, following in the footsteps of, among others, Jacqueline Du Pré, Sir Bryn Terfel and Maxim Rysanov. The Serbian musician, whose artistry was lauded with a five-star review by The Arts Desk and acclaimed for its ‘stunning originality’, also won the Guildhall Wigmore Recital Prize, enabling him to make his Wigmore solo debut this evening.
