Overview

Winner of the Gold Medal at the 2021 Leeds International Piano Competition, the Kazakhstani pianist also took home further awards: the Medici TV Audience Prize and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society Prize for Contemporary Performance. The critic of I-News claimed that his subsequent Proms debut with Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto was of ‘the kind I thought we could only hear in our dreams’. He is now a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist with some much-praised CDs to his credit.
