Overview

A multi-award-winning composer, pianist, bandleader, producer and writer, the American artist continues to make a vital contribution to music of many kinds through his protean activities: The New York Times has described him as ‘a social conscience, multimedia collaborator, system builder, rhapsodist, historical thinker and multicultural gateway’. He joins with one of the UK’s most original and imaginative ensembles as well as one of its most exciting and internationally successful conductors. Mozart is on the bill in the shape of a fragmentary string quartet which Iyer turned into a new piece for the Brentano Quartet in 2011.
