This concert will be approximately 1 hour in duration, without an interval
Formed in Italy in 2016 and named in honour of ‘Young Werther’, Goethe’s influential literary creation and the inspiration behind Brahms’s Third Piano Quartet, Quartetto Werther has established its place among Europe’s finest young piano quartets. It launches Wigmore Hall’s ECMA weekend with Schumann’s sublime Op. 47 and the youthful exuberance of Richard Strauss’s Piano Quartet in C minor.
The ECMA Showcase has been supported by a gift from the estates of the late Thomas and Betty Elton in memory of Sigmund Elton
