Overview
Ear-opening performances, aided by the use of gut strings and historical bows and driven by fearless artistry, come as standard from the Chiaroscuro Quartet. The ensemble’s international line-up pays homage to the inexhaustible art of musical invention as embodied in the Fantasia cromatica by the Renaissance Dutch composer Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck and the first of Beethoven’s peerless late quartets.
