A sense of wonder weaves its way through Jennifer Johnston’s beguiling recital programme, located in the transformed world of nighttime and the powerful emotions that it so often triggers. The Liverpool-born mezzo-soprano, who worked as a barrister before pursuing her true vocation as a singer, steps into the nocturnal world in company with Malcolm Martineau, one of the world’s greatest accompanists.
