Programme

Overview

Known for the collective beauty of its members' sounds and the extraordinary concentration of their music making, Quatuor Arod returns to Wigmore Hall with an enchanting lunchtime programme that pairs Haydn’s perfectly crafted Op. 76 No. 1, first published in London in 1799, with Tchaikovsky’s First String Quartet, the melancholy slow movement of which was reported to have reduced Leo Tolstoy to tears.
