Overview

Igor Levit and the Leonkoro Quartet, winner of the 2022 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition, direct their collective affinity for Brahms to the composer’s four-movement Piano Quintet in F minor, a monumental product of his early maturity. The Leonkoro begins with Haydn’s charming Op. 76 No. 5 before turning to the stormy drama of Mendelssohn’s F minor Quartet, composed shortly before his death.
